Is it safe?
Yes! Safety is our primary concern at TMA. All our staff are qualified and experienced for all the activities they run. Even before your course starts we are considering your safety, from carefully checking the weather forecast and selecting an appropriate venue to speaking to you personally to find out your needs, our highly qualified staff team will keep you safe and smiling all day.
What should I wear?Generally what is comfortable for you and the forecast weather. We recommend that you don't wear jeans or denim as this gets very heavy and cold when wet. Shorts and t-shirts are great if the weather is good but please bring along a warm top and trousers as Scotlands changeable weather may strike. If we are on the water then a full change of clothes is needed. Full personal equipment list can be found in the appropriate activity page. If you have any questions or need to borrow any equipment please contact us.
Can my kids go on their own?We need a parent or guardian to accompany all under 18s. We also believe that the outdoors is a great place to spend time with your family. However we do appreciate that some parents maybe less keen than their little adventurers so they do not have to participate if they do not want to.
Can I bring the dog?Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome, but we need to know in advance and it may not be suitable for to join in some of our adventures or at certain times of year so please contact us in advance.
What equipment is provided?TMA will provide all safety kit and most specialist equipment, from helmets to buoyancy aids we've got it covered. The only things you need to provide are walking boots (your own are always a better fit and more comfortable) and mountain bikes, however if you don't have these then don't worry as we can arrange to hire them locally.
I want to buy my own equipment but am unsure about what to get? That is one of the hardest Questions to answer. TMA offers a unique service to its customers. If you are booked on a course with us and want some advice about equipment one of our staff can arrange to meet you in an outdoor shop and offer free impartial advice about your choices (this service is free but limited to Glasgow stores)
How fit do I need to be?TMA can cater for all ranges of fitness. You do not need to be an elite athlete to enjoy the outdoors and we will work with you to make the day accessible and enjoyable to all. Some of our courses do require a degree of physical ability but you will be advised of this on booking.
Am I insured?TMA insurance will cover you for accidents caused by instructor negligence however we cannot insure personal equipment or against cancellation we recommend you source your own holiday insurance to cover these.
